Harry Potter Delayed

Well, so far in the series the movies have come out in the fall. And it was planned to continue this way until Warner Bros. pulled for the fall opening. Rumor has it that WB is waiting until summer because more children will be able to come see it rather than right before the holidays. There are a great deal of people eagarly anticipating this movie and all that I have spoken with are extremely upset at the delay. Did they make the right choice in delaying. Only time will tell.

The upcoming movie is based on the 6th book in the Harry Potter series and is action packed and should prove to be the best yet. Well, I said that last time when they released Order of the Phoenix and I was thoroughly disappointed. What I have seen from the trailer, they have done an excellent job with the effects. I can actually say that it looks like what my imagination came up with. Now, I don’t know how the other Potter fans feel about it but It better be damn close to as detailed as the book or this guy will be very upset. It should be at least three hours long to cram everything important in the film. I will definitely be keeping track of the news on this one. That is all I have for now.

MovieBlips: vote it up!

  1. I hear that they pushed it back because it couldn’t compete with the new James Bond, Quantum of Solace.

I know Harry Potter would probably have crushed Bond but all in all it is a good move for Potter. Childrens films always do better in the summer, and the less competition the better.

I kow it has upset some people just like the delay of Star Trek upset the Trekkies. I think I am going to start calling the Harry Potteer cult “Potties.” Yep all of the Potties will have to wait for this one ;)

  3. I wonder if the fans will boycott the films first weekend,,, (that would be a good way to stick it to the man/Studio).

  4. Yeah, I’m sure that will happen :rolls eyes.

Harry Potter fans are probably still writing letters to get the date moved up.

  5. What these fans don’t realize is that writing letters won’t do anything but show the studios how many fans they have.
Once the studio has made up its mind, letters won’t cut it…
The only way the fans can hurt the studio is by damaging the opening weekend numbers.
I can’t believe they can’t get together on this,,,

  8. I don’t really like any of the movies so far, the books are far better. Goblet of Fire was Ok but that is the only one that even comes close.
